Cuenca, Spain
Study, live and growLive where other people come on holiday.
A UNESCO World Heritage city between two rivers, with clean air, quiet streets and a natural park on your doorstep. Madrid and Valencia are less than an hour away by high-speed train, and everyday life costs less than in Spain’s big cities.
Why Cuenca
Why we started in Cuenca.
We chose Cuenca to start our project because it is a place where you can study calmly: a university city at a human scale, where everything you need is close by and daily life costs less than in the big capitals. Living here is also one of the most direct ways to learn how life in Spain works.
Our support begins before you arrive and continues while you are here: from document guidance and meeting you at the high-speed station to helping you find accommodation, settle in and complete formalities such as local registration. We want you to find a friendly place from which to grow and build your future.
What Cuenca gives you
A university city and World Heritage Site.
Studying with PROM means living your programme in Cuenca, a city that combines heritage, quality of life and an easy setting for international students. It is a place where it is easier to adapt, make friends and focus on your studies.
An active student community
You live alongside university students in an established academic environment, with student associations and plenty going on outside class.
Safe and close by
A compact city where most journeys are on foot, with hospital emergency services open 24 hours.
Heritage and culture
A UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1996: the old town and the Hanging Houses become part of your everyday life, not a one-off visit.
Connected to the rest of Spain
Less than an hour by high-speed train from Madrid and Valencia, and about 30 minutes from Albacete. The starting point for the cultural trips the school organizes.
More room in your budget
Rooms in Cuenca are advertised from around €300 a month. For comparison, the average advertised room in June 2026 was €550 in Madrid, €600 in Barcelona and €380 in Valencia. Your real cost will depend on the room available and your habits.
Rent references checked in September 2026 from idealista listings and market reports. These are advertised prices, subject to availability and conditions.
Accommodation
We help you find housing before you travel.
Finding a home from another country is one of the biggest worries before travelling, so we don’t leave you to do it alone. PROM IBS has agreements with estate agencies, student residences and hotels in Cuenca to make accommodation easier, with reduced, affordable prices for our students.
Student residences
A room in a residence where you live with other students, with shared spaces and more predictable costs. A good option for your first months in Spain.
Shared flats
A room or flat through the estate agencies we work with. We help you understand the conditions and the contract before you sign, so you know exactly what you are paying for.
Hotels for your first days
If you need a few days to settle in or view flats in person, you can stay in hotels we have agreements with. Your arrival doesn’t depend on having everything sorted.
Rooms in Cuenca are advertised from around €300 a month. Rent and living costs are not included in the programme fee: you pay them directly to the accommodation you choose.
How we help you find a place
Before you travel, you tell us what you are looking for: whether you prefer to share, your budget and how close you want to be to the school.
We suggest options from our partners, with their conditions explained clearly.
When you arrive, we go with you to your accommodation and help you settle in.
